Everything is smart these days. Phones, heating, lighting, politicians… OK, perhaps not the last one – particularly in light of the USA’s newest President – but you get the point. So it was only a matter of time before smart home services became integrated with swimming pools too. If you’re in the early stages of building your swimming pool then why not contact us for a chat about what can be done to ‘pimp your pool.’ Alternatively, you might like to add some smart swimming pool tech, or dedicated swimming pool speakers to your existing pool to make it even more enjoyable.
There are plenty of cool things that can be done, from installing an automated chemical tracker to check that your pool is safe and healthy to use, to temperature trackers that you can read via your mobile phone so that you don’t get an unexpected icy chill when you spontaneously dive in. You can even automate when your pump runs from your smartphone to save on energy costs. One of the easiest ways to upgrade the look and feel of your pool though, is by simply improving its lighting.
Swimming pool lighting – your secret weapon
Why might you want to improve the lighting in your swimming pool you might ask? Well aside from the incredible ways in which bespoke swimming pool lighting can add to, and change, the entire mood and ambience of your poolside space, the obvious reason is that we’re not blessed with year-round light evenings (or predictable weather) here in the UK. Sure, we get a couple of months in the summer where – as long as it doesn’t rain – we can enjoy the long, lazy evenings, but just as we all start getting used to a 10pm Gin & Tonic while watching the sun go down, we blink and it’s dark at 9:30pm. Then 9pm, 8:30pm and before you know it, the evenings are over as quick as they began. With Smart swimming pool lighting though, you won’t have to keep manually adjusting your lights in accordance with the changing daylight hours. Your Smart lighting can automatically detect sunset or sunrise and switch the lights on or off accordingly!
Types of swimming pool lighting to consider:
- High-performance LED white lighting
- Underwater mood lighting
- Above ground mood lighting
- Floating swimming pool lights
Touch wood, but we seem to be having a decent summer this year. When the evenings do start drawing in though, it’s not an excuse to retreat inside, slip into our dressing gowns and slippers and turn on the telly. There’s plenty of time for that during the winter months when it really is dull and miserable, so why not invest in some Smart lighting for your swimming pool and get the most out of it for as long as possible?
